Characters

Key characters in Lupin Part 4, with a brief guide to who they are.

A resourceful gentleman thief inspired by Arsène Lupin. After years of heists and disguises, he turns himself in to protect Claire, Raoul and his mother, Mariama, and secure Benjamin’s freedom.

Claire Laurent

Assane’s former partner and Raoul’s mother. She still cares for Assane but fears the danger his elaborate schemes bring to their family.

Raoul Diop

Assane and Claire’s teenage son. He admires his father but has endured kidnappings, long absences and the consequences of Assane’s criminal life.

Bruno

Assane’s childhood friend from his years in Paris. Their shared history with criminal mentor Jean-Luc Keller resurfaces in Part 3.

The Story So Far — Lupin Parts 1–3

Assane Diop's extraordinary life of disguises, elaborate heists and deception began with a determination to clear his father's name. Babakar Diop died in prison after being falsely accused of stealing a valuable necklace from the wealthy Pellegrini family. Years later, inspired by the fictional gentleman thief Arsène Lupin, Assane set out to expose the truth.

In Parts 1 and 2, Assane's pursuit of justice brought him into conflict with powerful businessman Hubert Pellegrini and the police. With help from his childhood friend Benjamin Férel, he uncovered the conspiracy behind his father's imprisonment. But his increasingly dangerous schemes placed his former partner Claire and their son Raoul at risk.

Part 3 introduced a new threat from Assane's past. His former mentor, Jean-Luc Keller, sought revenge, while Assane was reunited with his long-absent mother, Mariama. Keller exploited that relationship, forcing Assane into another series of dangerous manoeuvres.

Meanwhile, police investigator Youssef Guédira continued to pursue Assane, using his knowledge of the Arsène Lupin novels to understand the thief's methods. Their unusual relationship developed into a mixture of rivalry, cooperation and mutual respect.

By the end of Part 3, Assane had surrendered to the authorities to protect his family and secure Benjamin's freedom. But his troubles were far from over. In the closing moments, he discovered that his old enemy Hubert Pellegrini was imprisoned in the neighbouring cell.

As Part 4 begins, Assane's future remains uncertain, with old enemies, family loyalties and unfinished business hanging over him.
